Antique Porcelain & Fine Arts

Welcome to Porcelain Biz!

Update 11/10/08: Finished the newest item descriptions. This website is like a never ending story but it is fun for sure. Will go back to translating the site into German which I have been doing a bit here and there. Send me an email if you like to chat about porcelain as I enjoy hearing from people.

I heard a neat quote by an unknown person - "You don't spend your money - you transfer your assets." Very true for porcelain - as it always holds or increases its value.

About the porcelain:

There are lots of different pieces from all over the world on this site. I guarantee the pieces as I described them! If you decide to purchase an item and it turns out I was wrong, I will take it back and refund your money no questions asked. If something is wrong with any description, send me an email with your opinion.

About me:

My name is Matthias Blume but most people just call me Matt. I have amassed a fairly large collection over the years and would like to continue collecting - thus I started to sell some pieces. I was born in Germany and grew up there but have been in the US for a long time and am a citizen. I have a degree in chemistry from Rutgers University. My favorite figures are made by Nymphenburg and my favorite dishes by KPM. I started with German porcelain but in recent years got interested in pieces from all over Europe and a few other places.

For more information on a particular piece, to inquire about shipping costs, other suggestions or questions, please email:

About this site:

My hope for this site is that it will serve as a great learning and reference tool for beginners and more advanced collectors as well. There are so many fakes out there these days that books don't really give you all the answers. This site is a do it yourself project and I am enjoying it but it is slow going. My little sister is helping me a bit as I am not so great at computer stuff. So if you find any quirks or anything you would recommend adding or changing - send me an email. I won't take it personally, I promise. Antique porcelain antikes porzellan antik european porcelain porcelaine europe continental porcelain 19th 20th 18th 1700's 1800's 1900's
