Dmitrovsky Mother w/Child Figurine

This is a rare figurine made by the Dimitrovsky facotry in Verbiliki near Moscow in Russia in the early 20th century bewtween 1926 and 1932. It is of a mother carrying her baby that is swaddled and covered by her coat. The figure is nicely modeled in the typical Russian style and hand painted on the porcelain itself without applying a glaze first. So a painted biscuit piece. Not common in the porcelain world but fairly normal for Russian porcelain figures. From what I could figure out about this particular factory is that Kuznetsov bought the Gardner Verbilki factory in 1891 and nowadays it is called Dmitrovsky factory. Not a mark one finds often. I assume this is part of the people of Russian series though I am unsure. Either way a nice figurine that shows a mother caring for her your child. She is wearing a long light brown coat with a colorful green and red and white checkered skirt showing underneath the coat. Purple head covering. The base is a simple dirt base with a tree stump in the back and the roots going towards the front. The figurine is in superb condition without any chips, repairs, etc. Just An extra spot of black paint to the bottom edge of the side of the base as shown. The piece is marked underneath with the red Demitrovsky mark as shown. The figurine is 7.625 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and 3.375 inches deep.
