Alcora Saucer w/Gold Trim

This is a rare saucer made by Alcora of Spain in the late 18th century. The full name of the maker is Real Fábrica del Conde de Aranda ( l'Alcora ) and it is really hard to find a piece by this maker! Plates and cups are found mostly in museums and often damage. The saucer is hand painted with a large floral arrangement to on side and two smaller isingle flowers to the other. Gold trim to the edge. This piece would have belonged to the German flower series of dishes inspired by the engravings of Weidemann . The design was introduced by Vincente Alvaro after a stay in Paris which explains why it looks so French in style. The quality of the porcelain is very nice with some inclusions in the paste and the hand painted decoration is quite nice as well. The piece is marked with their typical A mark in gold as well as another incised. The piece is in superb condition with some minor wear. It is 1.125 inches tall and 5.625 inches in diameter.
