Allach Dog

This is a long hair dachshund ( Langhaardackel ) made by Allach in 1938 or 1939. Allach porcelain items are quite rare especially the painted versions. The quality of the piece is superb but obviously and rightfully there is a negative stigma attached to these pieces as Allach was the porcelain maker of Nazi Germany. The dog was modelled by Ottmar Obermaier in 1937 and all in all 31 painted pieces were made of which an unknown number survives. It is model number 75. The dog is quite large being about 14 inches long and 7.5 inches tall. It is marked with the SS mark over the word Allach. It is in perfect condition! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
