Nathusius Cherub with Bunny

This is a rare porcelain figurine most likely made by Althaldensleben in Germany in the first half of the 19th century. The matching piece I own is marked with a single blue line mark but this piece here is unmarked. A good quality white piece of a cherub with a bunny in his basket. Very well modeled really which shows that they were indeed a formidable competitor to KPM during this period. The little figurine is in great condition with a little chip to the grass haning over the side of the basket and a ground down (but glazed over) spot to the top of the strap holding the basket to his shoulder. This is from the manufakturing process and not real damage. The piece is not marked as shown but the second piece that came with it has the Nathusius mark and they look to be from the same maker. It is 3.375 inches tall, 1.75 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. Please e-mail me for more information or photos.

Price is $299
