Altrohlau Creamware Plate #2

This is a rare plate made by Altrohlau in 1807 so a very early piece for this maker. It is made of some sort of creamware / earthenware which makes sense since Nowotny didn't produce porcelain until 1838. The plate is marked with an interesting mark which states NOWOTNY IN ALTENROHLAU BEY CARLSBAD with the Roman numeral VII for 1807 under that. The plate has a really nicely reticualted rim design with two puce rings as trim, a ribbed design to the edge of the well and some nice roses hand painted - a larger one in the center and five smaller ones along the sides. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 8.375 inches in diameter. It displays nicely but has a repaired chip along the edge which could be done bette, a little wear and some chipping along the foot of the underside as shown. Still a must have being so early and quite nice for this maker. Please email me for more information or photos.
