Ansbach Plate

This is a plate made by Ansbach in about 1770. Ansbach started making porcelain around 1758. The factory flourished from 1758 through 1777 and closed somewhere around 1860 but was already in private hands since 1807. The plate is marked with the underglaze blue A. mark underneath. It also has an incised N near the footring. The plate is handpainted with colorful flowers all around as well as a nice relief pattern on the rim. It is a bit over 1 inch tall and 9.375 inches in diameter. The plate is in great condition with a factory flaw on the rim (a black line where there must have been an impurity during the firing) and a little wear to some flowers but nothing major.
