Arras Polychrome Floral Plate

This is a rare plate made by Arras around 1780. Arras was only around from about 1770 to 1790 and their pieces are hard to find and I have never come across a polychrome example of theirs. So needless to say I was excited about this plate. The tried to compete with Tournai porcelain and this piece shows that they are quite similar - not quite as nice but still very special. The plate is hand painted with a nice floral arrangement in the center with three more single flowers along the rim. Nicely shaped edge of the plate. The plate is made of softpaste porcelain. It is in great condition with some wear from use and stacking and a small firing crack on the rim as shown. No chips which is nice. It displays superbly! It is definitely a rare find! The bottom of the piece is marked with the red AR mark as shown and there is also an incised letter in the paste as shown. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
