Bing & Grondahl Plaque #2

This is an unglazed porcelain plaque made by Bing & Grondahl in their early period around 1870. Bing & Grondahl was founded in 1853 by Harald Bing and Frederik von Grondahl as well as the Ludwig brothers. All in all they make porcelain very similar to the Royal Copenhagen works in the nordic styles mostly. These plaques are actually identical to the ones Royal Copenhagen sold which is a bit odd. Copyright apparently mattered very little :) It has the impressed word Eneret on it as well as the impressed B&G mark, incised S and 40. There are two holes in the top back part for hanging it. The plaque comes in a period wooden frame which is hand carved and has a little wear to the stain. The plaque is of a man warming his hands by the fire and a woman lighting an oil lamp. This is the winter version of the four seasons. The detail is very nice. The piece is in perfect condition. The porcelain part is 5.625 inches in diameter and the frame is 7.25 inches wide and 9.25 inches tall. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $149
