Bayeux Butterfly Plate #1

This is a really nice and quite hard to find plate made by Bayeux in France during the mid 19th century during the Langlois period . One of the nicest plates I have seen by them! I am a big fan of their work during this period and it is different from any other maker except maybe Valentine during the same period. Many of their pieces were based on Asian designs but with their own twist. The piece here has a hand painted central design of two fancy butterflies on a blooming branch with some leaves to it as well. The edge has their typical cobalt blue color to it in a nice shape edges with a gold trim with Asian style blossoms in between. A stunning looking piece! The plate is 1 inch tall with a diameter of 8.75 inches. The plate is in excellent condition with jsut a touch of gold wear. It displays nciely and I ahve a matching plate to it on the site if anyone wants a pair. The piece is unmarked but that is very normal for these makers of this period. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
