Winter Figurine

This is a really nice and rare figurine representing one of the four seasons made by Bow around the mid 18th century - circa 1765. This is winter and it is of a gentleman dressed in a beautiful coat with the hood up over his head. The coat is hand painted in flowers and gold dots surrounded by tiny turquoise dots. Gold trim to the edge and pink to the underside edges near the bottom and turquoise to the underside hood. He is sitting some logs that are on a typical base for this maker with four scroll feet with scrolls all around all highlighted with gilding. Some flowers and their leaves on the base as well as a pot with flames coming out on which he is warming his hands. A really superb example and it is marked with the red anchor and dagger mark. Marked examples are not common at all so they were quite proud of this example. As nice as it gets for this maker! The figure is in great condition with the expected minor damages and one leaf as well as two smaller chips to the inside edge of the corner of his coat as shown. He displays superbly! The figurine is 6.5 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 4 inches deep.
