Camille Naudot Sevres Plate

This is a really interesting plate made by Camille Naudot in 1907. It is off course after the much more famous Sevres design used for the service made for Madame du Barry as well as another one made for Charlotte-Louise. Camille Naudot copied these pieces in very much the same detail and quality since there was a need for replacement pieces or colelctors wanted a more affordable version of these pieces. Off course they were done on hard paste porcelain instead of soft paste but all in all they are superb pieces! The plate here has three different cartouches of a putto / cherub / angel doing different things. Each cartouche is surrounded by a gold frame. There are also three hand painted baskets filled with flowers along the rim plus leaf wreaths connected by floral garlands. Some gold trim to the edge as well as a gold design to the well edge and the one reseaon I could not resist the piece - the initials MB in the center in tiny flowers and gold leaves. The quality of the painting is top notch and the price somewhere around 1-2% of the original so I see why he made them! The plate is in perfect condition. It is marked with an interlaced double L mark in the back as well as some incised marks as shown. Very much like the real plates except this is a copy. The plate is 9.75 inches in diameter and 0.875 inches tall. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
