Vincennes Baby Figurine

This is a figurine made by Vincennes around 1750. It is one of a group of figures modelled after the Flemish sculptor Francois Duquesnoy (aka Le Flamand) and that are entitled 'Les Enfants Francois'. It is of baby or child sleeping peacefully. A very rare and decorative figurine. All in white softpaste porcelain with lots of detail. The figurine is in superb condition for the age with no restorations or chips but it does have manufacturing flaws like black firing specs and firing cracks one of which was filled at during the making. The figure is unmarked which is typical of Vincennes figures during this time period and is 3.125 inches tall, 3.125 inches wide and 6.375 inches long.
