Large Capodimonte Relief Box

This is a large box made in the Capodimonte style and meant to imitate the amazing Doccia / Ginori pieces but I believe it was made in France in the late 19th century. A rather large example that would be great to store some things in it like your sewing accessories, your hidden stash of candy or anything else you can think of. The sides as well as the top are decorated with mythological / biblical scenes in relief that are all hand painted. There is Neptune with his hippocampus horses in the front semi nude ladies with cherubs to the sides and back and ladies with some cherubs to the top. Lots of details and nicely ahnd painted but not as good the the actual Doccia / Ginori examples though I ahve never come across one of theirs of this size. The mounts are probably brass or some other golden colored metal. The box is in great condition with no real issues except for that the filler used to hold the top in the mounts is rather thick and has started to crack and even fallen out in some spots. An easy fix if need be but it is fine the way it is. It displays perfectly and is ready to be used again :) The piece is marked with the blue crown over N mark as shown used by a million different makers from Italy to Germany to France and probably a few other places. The box is 4.5 inches tall, 9.5 inches wide and 7.25 inches deep. A truly fun piece to look at and an amazing size to actually use! The spot on the underside in the center is because it wobbled andneeded to be ground down to sit flat. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
