Flora Danica Flower Pot

This is a superb cache pot / flower pot / jadiniere / bottle cooler / wine cooler made by Royal Copenhagen in 1959. Sadly not an original 18th century set of their most famous service the Flora Danica or Danish Flowers service which is one of the most famous services ever made since that is still in the hands of royalty :) This pot is hand painted in the typical style of a gold pointy edge with a some pink highlights and flowers as well as leaves with each side having a nice large flower all over it from root to blossoms. One side has a blue flower on it called Orobus Vernus L. and the other side has a nice yellow flower on it called Papaver Nudicaule L. Each a beautiful flower which I guess is native to Denmark since it made it onto the piece. The piece is in superb condition with just a little wear to the gilding on the top edge. One area had the gilding missing and was repainted to display perfectly again. No big deal and to be expected from use and age. Some hard water stains on the inside from use. The pot is marked underneath with the three wavy blue lines in underglaze blue as well as various other marks including painters marks as shown in the pictures. There is also the Latin name of the flowers handwritten in black as is normal for the dishes. The piece is 4.75 inches tall and 5.75 inches in diameter plus the handles. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
