Marked Swaddled Baby Needle Case / Etui

This is a rare figural needle / bodkin case / sewing etui in the shape of a swaddled baby made in Denmark by Royal Copenhagen in the early 19th century. Superbly modeled as a baby in a dark pink blanket with green bows to the front and some gold details. Her arms are across the chest and one to the side. Super cute piece and it is hand painted so nicely especially the face. The lid is made of silver but is not marked which later examples are so it's an early piece for sure. The inside of the porcelain has their three wavy blue lines mark as shown. The piece is in great condition with the lid having a tiny dent in the edge and it is tarnished from age which can be polished but I prefer not doing it so I left it. The back of the piece has straight lines cut into it to connect the dots. This is not glazed so not sure when it was done but it looks nice and fits. The entire piece is 3.375 inches tall, 1.25 inches wide and 1.125 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $749
