Swaddled Baby Needle Case / Etui

This is a rare figural needle / bodkin case / sewing etui in the shape of a swaddled baby made in Denmark by Royal Copenhagen in the 1930s. Superbly modeled as a baby in a pink blanket with blue bows to the front and some gold details. Her arms are across the chest and one to the side. Super cute piece and it is hand painted so nicely especially the face. The lid is made of silver and stamped with a crown over the letter M for the Danish jeweller A. Michelson who worked in Copenhagen in the 1930s. Also 925S stamped inside the lid as shown. The inside of the piece is not visibly marked. They used a bunch of material to hold the lid in place that is smeared on the inside which might hide the blue three waves mark but this was definitely made by them during this period. The piece is in superb condition! The entire peice is 3.375 inches tall, 1.25 inches wide and 1.125 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $749
