Damm Figurine Lady w/Cat & Mouse

This is a great figurine made by Damm using the old Hoechst molds in the mid 19th century around 1860. Damm was actually not a porcelain but an fine earthenware maker. Thus these pieces look quite different than the old Hoechst ones and are much lighter in weight and also a bit bigger in size as earthenware did not shrink as much as porcelain during the firing process. Quite charming though and very collectable and rare. This is a figurine of a girl or young lady with a cat sitting in her apron that is looking up at the hand holding a mouse in it. The figurine is painted very nicely and looks very much like the Hoechst pieces. She is 6.25 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep. Marked underneath with just the mold number 81 (I think) with a line under it. The figurine is in great condition with a few minor glaze flakes that are very common on their wares. One larger one to her side, a few to the top of her head and one on the pinky of the hand holding the mouse. Also two chips to the side of the base as shown. All in all in great shape and she displays superbly. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
