Darte Freres Amazing Scent Flask

This is a perfume / dresser bottle made by Darte Freres in the early 19th century. As fancy a scent flask as I have come across in a long time plus it is marked by the maker and that rarely happens. So definitely a special piece! The piece is superbly modeled with four sides that have a blue ground color to them and each side has a top quality hand painted floral arrangement on white ground to it with lots of fancy gilding around the much of it raised. The corners have a nice trim to it that is fully gilded with a swan to each of the bottom corners. A reticulated arch trim to the top edge and more blue ground and raised gold trim to the top. The lid stopper is original and has the same blue color to it and a nice relief design that is gilded plus a raised round design in gold. It is a stunning looking piece with lots of detail so the pictures will do much better than any description. The piece is in superb condition with just a spot of minor gold wear to two top corners and the very tip of the lid. As nice as they come that is for sure! It is marked underneath with the red Darte Freres - Darte Palais Royal mark as shown. The bottle and stopper are 8.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches square.
