18th Century Relief Scene Cup & Saucer

This is a rare cup & saucer made by Doccia in the 18th century. I have come across quite a few from the 19th century but the earlier pieces are very elusive! The cup is decorated with biblical or mythological scenes in relief all around that are hand painted very nicely. It has an intertwined barnch handle in green and white with leaves at the terminal along the top. The handle is much finer/thinner than more modern versions! The saucer has the usual really neat relief design with swags of relief flowers in between. The difference is the colors of the flowers are more in their typical 18th century colors and the designs in between are just purple, blue and gold which was how they painted them early on before they became more colorful. A gold flower on the bottom inside of the cup. Both pieces are in great condition with a gold spot painted over a flaw in the paste of the saucer. A very rare set to find from this period! Neither piece is marked but that is normal for this maker during this period. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and just over 5 inches in daimeter and the cup is 2 inches tall and 3.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
