DuPaquier Monogram Saucer

This is a rare saucer made by Du Paquier around 1730. Claudius Innocentius du Paquier was the founder of Europe's second oldest porcelain maker which he started in 1718. A precursor to the Vienna porcelain factory. His wares are exceedingly rare and owning some of his pieces was always a goal of mine so I was thrilled to buy three pieces recently. This piece is a superb saucer hand painted with a monogramm under a crown in the center - the crown is in their typical iron red color with blue and green jewels and gold highlights. The Monogram was done in purple with nice details to it. Not sure of the letter or their order but it looks like a C , F , J , S and another F ?? Wish I knew who this was made for! Maybe someone out there does and could enlighten me :) The rest of the saucer has two flowering branches and a delicate pink flower to the and a wide gold trim. The underside has three more flowers to it including their leaves and blossoms as shown. Monogram pieces are very very rare by them and it is a very nice example for sure! The piece is of amazing quality and just as good as Meissen of the period which one cannot say of any other maker except Sevres later on maybe so that is an amazing compliment and one of the reasons his wares are so sought after! The saucer is not marked which is the norm. It is in superb condition with just some wear to the monogram as shown. As nice as they come! The saucer is 1 inch tall and has a diameter of 5.375 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
