English Brown Patches Dog

This is a funny dog figurine made by an English maker in the early to mid 19th century - possibly in the Staffordshire region or Rockingham or something along those lines. He's got character with that lower lip sticking out which from the front looks like just a tongue which was likelt the point and they probably couldn't just make a thin piece without it breaking during the firing and thus the lower lip support was born :) Definitely something someone out there should recognize! The dog is of good quality and seems to be some sort of softpaste porcelain. It is handpainted with brown spots and a cute face. The dog is in great condition with a bunch of tiny black firing spots and the tip of the tail was worked on but it is hard to spot and I didn't see it until I took the photos! I must be getting old :) A bit of wear as well. He (or she) is 4 inches tall, 4.5 inches long and 2.125 inches wide. The figure is not marked underneath but definitely English and unmarked pieces are very common during this period - actually during all periods of English porcelain!
