English Kakiemon Plate #1

This is a plate made by one of the better makers like Coalport, Chamberlain's or Spode around 1810. One of the fancier ones of this style I have ever seen being handpainted with an interesting Kakiemon style pattern. The center has an Asian garden scene and the rim has cartouches of birds and flowers surrounded by a fancy gold trim on a salmon colored background. The plate is in great condition with no chips, etc. but there is some wear mainly from stacking and on the high points to the gilding. A small area of crazing in the white area underneath the tree branches. It is sadly unmarked which is common but definitely English from this period due to the blueish tinge of the glaze underneath. Not hard paste porcelain! The piece is 1.125 inches tall and 9.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $149
