Landscape & Sea Shell Scene Vase

This is a superb vase made either in England but more likely by one of the Paris makers in about 1810. Like meant to imitate the Worcester pieces that were in fashion at the time it is hand painted with a landscape scene on one side and with seashells on the other side. The landscape scene is quite nice including a boat, building and some people besides the usual greenery. The seashells are superb something one does not see often. The vase has nice fancy handles in the shape of swans typical to this time period. The vase is in superb condition with virtually no wear to the gilding but there is a chip to the foot where it meets the main body, a sliver off one of the corners of the base and a glaze line to the inside of the neck not visible at all from the outside! About as good an example in this style as one could hope for! The metal screw that connects the top and bottom piece is rusty which is normal and it is a tiny bit loose again nothing unusual. The vase is unmarked underneath which is the norm but it does have an old Antique Dealers Association sticker on the sea shell scene as shown stating it to be antique and the sticker itself is probably almost antique itself by now :) The vase is 11.875 inches tall, 6.75 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep.
