Sevres Style Lidded Pot

This is a really nice small lidded pot made in England in the 19th century. Possibly Coalport or something along those lines. Done in the Sevres style it is hand painted with two polychrome bird scenes on white ground on both the main body and lid. They include a colorful bird in a little landscape surrounding. The rest of the pieces is decorated with an amazing cobalt blue ground color and lots of superb raised gilding. A nice floral finial to the lid with is stem and two leaves. The pot was once marked with a gold Sevres itnerlaced double L mark with the letter B but it has worn off or was removed and can only be seen when held at the right angle to a bright light. I tried to show that. The piece is in great condition with jsut a touch of wear to the gilding mainly along the top edge of the main body where the lid sits. It displays perfectly! All in all a superb piece and the cobalt blue ground with that amazing gilding looks stunning. One of the best color combinations in the porcelain world I think! The bowl with the lid in place is about 3.375 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
