Faience Knife & Fork

This is a very rare matching knife and fork set most likely made in Germany or France in the 18th century. It came with some porcelain ones from this period and these fit right in. The set has handles made of some sort of faience but sadly I know nothing about this type of ware. The handles are nicely handpainted with flowers and a yellow trim. The metal parts are steel and the ferrule is made of silver. The metal goes all the way through the handle and a little piece comes out the other and which was flattened to hold the handle in place. Not sure if the metal parts are original or a later replacement but I tend to think they are original. The set is in great condition with oxidation to the metal parts which is normal and some stable small cracks on the knife handle towards the ferrule end. These looks more like glaze cracks than anything else. The set is unmarked which is always the case. The fork is 7.25 inches long of which the handle is about 2.625 inches. The knife is 8 inches long of which the handle is about 2.625 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
