Bird Scene Pot de Creme

This is a very rare and superb pot de creme made by Frankenthal in about 1767. The main cup is hand painted with nice bird scene to the front with a few small flowers scattered about but the best part is an amazing trim around the top rim including a lattice in green with puce flowers in the openings and gold highlights. The lid has a small bird scene to it as well as the scattered flowers and the matching fun trim. Nice finial to the lid. A stunning dish for sure! The pot is marked with the crown over CT mark in underglaze blue, an underglaze blue 6 with a puce 7 next to it, a puce F as a painter's mark and some imrpessed marks as shown. The set is in great condition with the handle having come off in the past and reglued. Could be hidden perfectly. All in all a top notch example that displays perfectly! The lidded cup is 3.625 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $749
