Single Bird Scene Cup

This is a superb cup made by Frankenthal in the 18th century. It is handpainted with a great bird scene with the bird in a landscape surrounding, lots of small flowers and leaves scattered in the other areas with their typical reddish brown trim to the rim. Really very nice! The cup is in great condition with a hairline across the bottom end of the handle - a fairly typical issue on early porcelain cups and nothing that takes away from the piece! The cup is marked with the CT under a crown with the letter B underneath as well as the usual incised letters and numbers and a painter's mark iv on the footring. The cup is 2 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.75 inches. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $499
