Farmer

This is a figure of a farmer seeding the field made by Frankenthal. He was modelled by Johann Wilhelm Lanz and dates to 1784-1788. The figurine is 5.5 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. Marked with the CT under the crown and two dots in underglaze blue. Also incised Sc and the number 2. It is very rare to find incised marks on Frankenthal figurines! He is in great condition with a few small chips to his hat and the hair braid in the back might have been all porcelain at one time but is painted on now with some black paint. I actually suspect this is original. An odd spot in the middle of the top base where there is no color. It was made this way and I am not sure why. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
