Early Frankenthal Chinaman w/ Bird Figurine

This is a very early figure made by Frankenthal in about 1756 or could even still be a later Strasbourg piece. I could not find this model so definitely not one you'll find again soon. It is of a Chinaman / Chinese / Asian gentleman dressed in flowing robe with pants and a pointy hat. He is holding a cute little bird in his right hand. A very nicely modeled figurine standing on a typical base for this maker and period highlighted with some puce and gold trim. Hand painted superbly with lots of detail. The piece is in good condition with damage to the middle three fingers on his lower / left hand as shown. Not bad and the more difficult to model thumb and pinky are still intact so a good restorer could easily bring him back to perfection. The tip of the hat also ahs a chip to it. None of this is very obvious and the piece displays perfectly! The figurine is 4.625 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and 2 inches deep. Unmarked which is not unheard off but definitely made by them during this period. There is an old museum ID looking number underneath as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
