Floral Sugar Bowl

This is a lidded sugar bowl made by Frankenthal during the Carl Theodor period from 1762 until 1797. Both pieces are nicely handpainted with flowers and gilding. The main bowl is marked underneath with the CT under a crown mark in underglaze blue as well as a square type mark used by them during this time period. Also incised o over I with an X next to it. The lidded dish is in superb condition with just a little bit of wear to the gold trim. The lid and bowl are 4.5 inches tall and 3.875 inches in diameter.
