Flutist Figurine

This is a figure of a flutist made by Frankenthal in about 1768. The figurine superbly modeled and painted in the typical Frankenthal fashion of the period. The fingers are so tiny I always wonder how they did it! He is 5.5 inches tall, 1.75 inches wide and 2 inches deep. The figure is marked with the CT under the crown in underglaze blue underneath with an incised 8 which might be the cypher for 1768 or just an incised number for something else. The figurine is in great condition with some expected minor damage - one chip to the ruffles on either should one of which was filled in a little bit, the tips of the fingers of his right hand are chipped a bit though it is not obvious when on display at all, the very tip of the flute is a bit rough but the color is the same so it was likely made this way, there is a small chip to the right corner of his coat and another to the back left corner of the coat, a firing spot by the left hand pocket on his coat and a flat chip to the udnerside base front left corner. All the damage is minor and he displays superbly! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
