Fruit Scene Plate

This is a nice soup bowl or plate made by Frankenthal in 1783. It is hand painted with a superb fruit and flower scene in the center including grapes and an apple with a few smaller flowers scattered throughout including three on the rim. It comes with a nice blue and gold trim and the edge has a nice shape to it. The plate is marked with the CT mark under the crown in underglaze blue as well as incised F and CH (This is hard to make out) near the foot ring. There is a blue 83 on the footring which is the date mark. The plate is 9.25 inches in diameter and 1.375 inches tall. It is in superb condition some very minimal wear, a few spots where the blue trim has flakes off (a common problem with these) and the usual manufacturing flaws. No chips, cracks, etc. Three short brownish lines along the edge which might look like cracks or hairlines but are in fact left over from one of those old nasty rusty plate holders from back in the day. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $749
