Fruit Scene Teapot

This is a teapot made by Frankenthal in about 1771. The teapot is handpainted with two superb fruit arrangements including nuts and leaves as well as tiny bugs and a fancy gold trim. Nice finial to the lid and puce decoration to where the spout attached to the main body. The pot is marked with the crown over CT mark in underglaze blue, an underglaze blue 71 (or maybe 72) as well as an incised H. It is in great condition with three chips to the lid edge, a reglued chip to the top edge of the pot (right above the handle) and a little paint flaking to three small spots of the finial. All in all a great example that displays perfectly! The tea pot is 4.25 inches tall, 4.75 inches long and 3 inches deep. Please email me for more information or photos.
