Lion Mark Scenic Cup & Saucer #1

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Frankenthal in about 1759. Both pieces are handpainted with a very nice scene of a couple in a landscape surrounding with a buidling or ruin and some scattered flowers. Nice puce and gold trim to the fancy handle. A very high quality set from their early period which is very hard to find. The set is in perfect condition with a tiny fleabite glaze chip to the footring of the cup. Even the scene colors are as fresh as they were when first made which is amazing! Some minor firing flaws like black specs mostly on the inside of the cup. Both pieces are marked with the underglaze blue lion mark as well as an incised 5 over 4 dots under the cup. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. The cup is 2.625 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.75 inches. Please email me for more information or photos.
