Lion Mark Scenic Cup & Saucer #2

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Frankenthal in about 1759. Both pieces are handpainted with a very nice scene of a couple in a landscape surrounding with a small flower or two. Nice puce and gold trim to the fancy handle. A very high quality set from their early period which is very hard to find. The set is in perfect condition with some small firing black spots the biggest on the footring of the cup and the thick glaze in one area of the cup rim has crazed a bit and stained from coffee which fits since it is a coffee cup after all :) Even the scene colors are as fresh as they were when first made which is amazing! Both pieces are marked with the underglaze blue lion mark as well as an incised 5K underneath the saucer. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. The cup is 2.625 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.75 inches. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $1749
