Oettner Scenic Cup

This is a rare scenic cup made by Frankenthal around 1760. The rare thing is that we can for sure say who painted this piece as it is defintely by the hand of Andreas Philipp Oettner. The front of the cup has a scene of a couple in a landscape surrounding with the rest of the cup having some scattered small flwoers painted on it. Nice puce trim to the tends of the handle and gold trim to the top rim and handle. The cup is in great condition with wear to the gold trim and the flower on the inside and a paint chip in the scene as a result of a flaw. The piece is 2 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.875 inches. It is nicely marked as shown with the CT under a crown monogram as well as a black 19 and some incised marks. Sadly no saucer but the V&A museum has one that would match nicely :) Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $699
