Oettner Teacaddy

This is a rare scenic tea jar / tea caddy made by Frankenthal around 1760. The rare thing is that we can for sure say who painted this piece as it is defintely by the hand of Andreas Philipp Oettner. The front and the back each have a superb scene on it with lots of strewn flowers all around. The sides have some of the nicest flowers I have seen by them and the top also has some small flwoers and a nice gold trim. The original lid has two tiny scenes on it with small flowers all around and the same gold trim. Nice pinecone finial to the top. The teacaddy is in good condition with the body being pretty much perfect but the lid has two small rim chips and a piece was broken out and reglued. It displays fine! The piece is rather large being 6 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide and 2 inches deep. It is only marked with an impressed i but there is no doubt about the maker here! Someone added his initials at some point - likely a collector. Please email me for more information or photos.
