Oval Serving Dish w/Grapes

This is a nice oval platter / serving dish made by Frankenthal in the 18th century. It is hand painted with a large scene in the center of two different color bunches of grapes including some leaves. There are two floral arrangements along the rim and a whole lot of small single flowers scattered throughout the dish. The edge has a bit of a relief design to the paste and a gold trim. Its a nice piece and not something you find too often at all. I ahve not come across one with grapes as the central design before! The plate is marked with the CT mark under the crown in under glaze blue with a number 7 below it as well as some incised marks as shown. The platter is 1.75 inches tall, about 14 inches wide and 10.25 inches deep. The piece is in great condition with a few minor manufacturing flaws common to these early wares. There is a small chip or flaw near the edge that was gilded in to hide it better. Quite minor. The glaze is off white in areas throughout the dish but the areas around some flowers is lighter in color. Not sure why but it has not been restored. It displays perfectly and looks amazing. Would look great in a tuscan style kitchen! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
