Putto Plate

This is a superb plate made by Frankenthal in the 18th century. It is handpainted with small sprigs of flowers and a large Putto on clouds in the center plus a blue and gold trim. The center putto was painted by Andreas Philipp Oettner. It is hard to date the piece accurately as the blue number on the footring seems to be 81 (maybe) but the quality of the paste suggests a much earlier production. The plate is marked with the CT mark under the crown in underglaze blue as well as incised mark like IIO or so. The plate is 9.125 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. It is in great condition with some stacking wear and loss of the blue colored trim. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
