Strawflower Dish #1

This is a dish plate made by Frankenthal in 1781. It is decorated with an udnerglaze blue strawflower design which is actually uncommon to find since the udnerglaze blue peices were meant as everyday ware back then because the decoration on polychrome pieces would wear quite quickly. The dish has a nice oval shape to it with eight raised 'ribs'. The plate is marked with the CT mark under the crown in underglaze blue as well as their usual incised marks and an 81 in blue on the footring for the year 1781. The piece is 1.25 inches tall, 9.5 inches wide and 8.625 inches deep. It is in great condition with some wear from stacking that does not distract from the piece and the usual firing or clay imperfections. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $299
