Jacob Petit Type Vase

This is a really superb vase most likely made by Jacob Petiti of the Paris region of France in the early 19th century. I have had a very similar marked example in the past and the design and style fit his work the best. A very nice example of this style for sure! Sort of like a cornucopia vase held up by a swan on a rectangular base. The vase has an oval shape to the top - one side is painted with a scene of a couple with the surrounding area having a burgundy ground color to it with the typical raised gold designs over that. The other side of the vase has a floral arrangement to it on white ground with some of the burgundy ground around it and a light blue ground near the top. Gold scrolls along the top edge. The nicely modeled swan it an off white or beigy orangey color with lots of gold detail to it and the base has a green ground color with raised gold desaigns to that. Some nice scrolls to the bottom and corners. All in all a very fancy and nice piece! Good size as well! The vase is in good condition with a touch of wear to the gilding mainly along the very top. The scroll design in the center of the base on the front and bac both ahve a chip / some chipping to it as shown but neither takes away from the piece at all and it looks amazing! The piece is not marked underneath but that is not very unusual at all. Definitely French from this period! The entire piece is 8.5 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 4.25 inches deep.
