Faience Couple with Flute & Goat Figurine

This is a faience figurine made by one of the French faience makers in the 19th century. It is of a couple sitting on top of a large rock base with the gentleman teaching the lady how to play the flute. She has a baby goat by her feet. The lady is nicely dressed as is the gentleman. Gold trim around the edge of the base. A theme that one sees quite often by French makers in both figures in porcelain as well as faience and painted on plates, etc. The detail of the modeling and hand painting is quite nice. The figure is in good condition with one of the ears of the goat having been restored, the tip of the flute is missing and his pinky finger at that point was restored, a his front foot was restored and his head was off and was restored back on. Pretty well done and the piece displays very nicely! The figurine is only marked underneath with an impressed number 71 which does not help much. It's definitely not an 18th century piece! The figurine is 8.5 inches tall, 7.75 inches wide and 6 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
