Marie Antoinette Basket

This is a nice reticulated basket made by Rue Thiroux also known as Fabrique de la Reine. Marie Antoinette was a patron of this maker and thus they were allowed to use the A under a crown mark. The piece is handpainted with a larger floral arrangement in the center with three smaller ones around it and a few tiny leaves in between. The rim of the basket is reticulated with the outside having a design like it was woven to it with a gold trim ot the top. A handle on each side with some gold trim finish off this very nice basket! The piece is in superb condition with a few black firing spots normal to the 18th century pieces and a larger and a tiny chip to the footring neither of which takes away from the piece when on display! The basket is marked underneath with the underglaze red A under a crown mark. It is 2.875 inches tall and 8.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
