Large Bird Scene Breakfast Cup & Saucer

This is a large cup and saucer made either in France or in Belgium in the early to mid 19th century. It is marked with a gold VE which I could not find in my books so if anyone out there is familiar with this mark a quick email would be appreciated. The set is probably a breakfast cup and saucer due to its large size. Both pieces are hand painted with a bird scene on white ground - one to the front of the cup and two to the saucer. Each contains a single bird in a landscape surrounding that are nicely done. There is a duck and a pheasant on the saucer and a stork like bird on the cup. What makes this set very elegant is the deep cobalt blue ground color to the rest of the bod with some nice gold trim around the scenes. More gilding around the white well of the saucer, the edges and a fully gilded handle. The cup & saucer are in superb condition, no chips, hairlines, restorations, etc. They display perfectly! The cup is just a touch over 3.25 inches tall and 3.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is just over 1.25 inches tall with a diameter of 6.5 inches. Both pieces are marked with the gold VE mark as shown. Each has an incised letter as well. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
