Superb Cache Pot

This is a really nice cache /flower pot with its udnerplate almost certainly made in Bordaux , France in the 18th century. Definitely French and with the trype of design I am fairly confident it was made by this maker. Pierre Verneuilh founded the factory in the later 18th century. The main piece is hand painted with a fancy & colorful design of flowers in a pot with fancy scrolls and leaf garlands. There are also two scenes done in all black - one has a whippet or greyhound dog sitting in a landscape while the other has a dog attacking a goose by her nest in a landscape surrounding. There is a nice gold trim along the top as well as a leaf garland around the bottom and some solid gold trim to the edges and around the scenes. A green and yellow wreath type design to the top rim that is matched on the saucer part. It's a gorgeous piece and it's nice to have the saucer part! The set is in great condition with just some minor and three chips to the top edge of the saucer dish have been expertly restored and are not visible when on display. Some use marks to the inside of the main piece as well as a glaze hairline to the underside of the same piece which does not go through! There is a drainage hole in the bottom center of the main body from when it was made. The entire piece is 7.75 inches tall and 6.875 inches in diameter at the top. The set is unmarked which is not unusual for this time period. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
