Church Scene Cup & Saucer

For sale is a cup and saucer made by one of the Paris makers or possibly by a Russian maker around 1800. The cup and the saucer each have a superbly hand painted scene of a fortress including a church on it - Vierzehnheiligan Basilica, otherwise known as "den Schutz der 14 Nothelfer zu erbitten" - the church of the 14 holy helpers - located about 25km North of Bamburg, Upper Frankonia, Bavaria, Germany. The river you can see is the Main. The cup features the same church but viewed from the other side. One is a closeup view and one a bit further away. The quality of the scene is better than most one sees from this region. Then there is the gilding. Quite fancy and better looked at in the pictures than described. The bottom inside of the cup is gilded completely as well. The set displays perfectly but the handle of the cup was off once and very well restored and the saucer has a hairline almost impossible to spot from the top side and so tight it still rings like a bell when tapped. Very minor wear to the gilding. The set is only marked with some sort of incised characters which is common for Paris makers around that time. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
