Sevres Style Sugar Caster

This is a rare sugar shaker / caster / muffineer made in France in the 19th century. It is decorated in the Sevres style of the 18th century but definitely not that old and likely comes from the Paris region of France in the mid 19th century. It is has a nice design to the paste and is hand painted with four floral arrangements around the main body and the typical blue and gold trim. The top has all the holes in it for the sugar to come out of and it is attached to the main body with a sterling silver collar that screws together. The foot is silver as well but I am assuming it was originally porcelain as one can see the glue marks where they attach. Oddly enough neither silver piece is marked to give an indication of age though they might be a psosibly later addition anyway. Either way a really fun piece! It is in great condition with jsut some wear to the gilding. The piece is 6 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
