Chinoiserie Knife #3

This is a rare large knife with the handle made of soft paste porcelain made by Mennecy around 1740. The porcelain handle is hand painted with a Chinoiserie design in polychrome including three little boys, some flowers and a building. The blade is steel which is marked as shown and the ferrule is sterling silver. The knife is amazingly complete with the blade which isn't that common. There is a little wear to the design which is normal on softpaste porcelain like this and the end that connects to the blade has two short hairlines. The blade has a bit of oxidation to it as shown which is unavoidable. The piece that sticks out at the end of the handle has the little sterling silver cover missing and the ferrule which is a later replacement I think has a dent to the edge. The porcelain is unmarked which is the norm. The knife is 10.5 inches long of which the visible porcelain handle is about 3.5 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
