Beehive Scene Vase w/ Ormolu

This is a fun scenic vase made by one of the Paris makers around the early 19th century. Very much in the style of Jacob Petit but could be another maker as well. What is rare about this piece is that it has the ormolu metal base which meant it was quite valued by someone and it has a scene to one side oincluding a beehive which is really rare to find. The vase has a nice green ground color with some raised gilding around the scenes. One scene is of a bird in a landscape whicle the other has the beehive sitting on a table with a bird hanging on one side while another one is going in for the landing, some bees swarming, a nest on the ground with eggs in it and some fruit on the ground as well. A really cute and well done scene with that rare addition for the modern beekeeper to collect :) The hand painting is of a very nice quality! The vase is not marked or at least not visibly because of the substance that is holding it in the ormolu base is covering the entire bottom. It does have a 2. in the neck of the top which does not help much. The piece is 6.375 inches tall including the metal base and about 2.5 inches in diameter. The base is 3.75 inches wide and deep. The vase is in great condition with a minor rough spot to a point on the top edge and a glaze flaw in the center of the bird. Neither takes away from the piece and it displays perfectly!
